Auron from the air, 1 h 30 from Monaco

From Monaco.

Breakfast in Monte-Carlo, lunch on the slopes. An hour and a half by road, half an hour in the air.

1 h 30by road

Auron is the only resort of this calibre you can reach from Monaco in a morning.

Monaco → A8 → Nice Saint-Isidore → Var valley → Tinée valley → Saint-Étienne-de-Tinée → Auron.

About 130 km. Road open all year round.

You leave the Principality on the A8 motorway. At Nice you do not cross the city: the Saint-Isidore exit opens onto the Var valley, then the Tinée road climbs, without a single traffic light, from Saint-Sauveur to Saint-Étienne. The last kilometres rise sharply from the valley to the plateau. You are in Auron an hour and a half after leaving the Rock, under two hours in any season. On Friday evening you leave after the office; on Saturday you clip into your skis outside the house; on Sunday evening you are home for dinner.

By helicopter from the Monaco heliport, allow about half an hour of flight. We arrange the transfer on request, depending on the weather and the day’s clearances; the house will be warm when you arrive.

In winter, snow chains are almost never needed up to the village; we will tell you the road conditions the day before. In summer, Auron sits at 1,600 metres: it is fifteen degrees cooler than Monaco.

One more residence, not one more journey.

What the Principality comes to Auron for.

Silence, first. Then a village that lives all year, a ski school that knows the children by their first names, restaurants where you get a table without booking two months ahead. And a house you keep: some of the chalets on the Puy d’Auron have not changed hands in a generation.

For a Monaco resident, a property in Auron is also an estate-planning matter: the property is in France and follows French rules, while the Principality does not tax income. We discuss it with your adviser before the offer, not after.

The houses in the collection are shown to the circle fifteen days before they come to market. For many of our Monaco clients, that is where everything is decided.
